We set off at 09:15 with a relaxing coffee stop beside a tranquil bay—an ideal way to start the day. Then it’s on to the southern tip of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, where a charming coastal village awaits, perfect for a leisurely lunch by the sea. In the afternoon, we take a scenic drive through the park to a dramatic clifftop lighthouse, offering unforgettable views. By late afternoon, we arrive in Carboneras with time to enjoy the beach or promenade before sitting down to a delicious banquet-style evening meal.

For early risers, the day begins with a gentle clifftop walk to a stunning viewpoint for the sunrise over Playa de los Muertos—an unforgettable start in one of Spain’s most dramatic coastal spots. After a Spanish-style breakfast back at the hotel, we set off into the wild beauty of Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Expect unspoilt beaches, volcanic cliffs, and timeless whitewashed villages. Highlights include a seaside castle featured in Game of Thrones, morning coffee in a charming fishing hamlet, and a delicious Menu del Día lunch overlooking the sea. We return to the hotel by 16:00, with time to relax, take a dip, or enjoy the sea breeze before another sociable evening and a well-earned dinner.

After a final breakfast, we say goodbye to our welcoming hotel and set off for one last day of discovery. We begin at the dramatic Lighthouse Museum, where sweeping sea views and fascinating exhibits bring Almaerias Lighthouse history to life. Then it’s on to a celebrity-favourite beach for coffee, boutique browsing, and a final paddle in the sea. A stunning scenic drive follows, climbing to a panoramic viewpoint where the landscape—and the road itself—take centre stage. Our final stop is the lively fishing town of Garrucha, renowned for its red prawns and excellent choice of seafront restaurants—perfect for a relaxed farewell lunch. We aim to arrive back locally at around 17:00.

This short break offers just the right mix of discovery and downtime, with carefully chosen stops and a relaxed pace—ideal for a well-deserved escape by the sea.
