Thoughtfully crafted for a leisurely and comfortable journey, this itinerary pairs accessible exploration with some of Europe’s most dramatic mountain scenery, crystal-clear rivers, and rich architectural heritage.

Our journey weaves through the province’s most captivating historic centers. In the capital city of Huesca, a flat high street leads past leafy Miguel Servet Park and the magnificent art nouveau Casino toward medieval alleys and a towering Gothic Cathedral. In Jaca, the level historic center revolves around Spain’s oldest Romanesque cathedral and the extraordinary, pentagon-shaped 16th-century Citadel of San Pedro, where deer graze in the peaceful surrounding moat. Nearby, Graus boasts one of Aragon’s most splendid squares: the Plaza Mayor, famous for its vibrant painted facades, arched porticoes, and grand Renaissance mansions set alongside the clear waters of the River Ésera.

With two hotel locations, we easily ascend into two distinct Pyrenean valleys, where spectacular scenic drives reveal the region’s legendary natural wonders and historic hamlets. We pause for lunch facing the awe-inspiring red cliffs of Riglos, where sheer, needle-like rock spires reach into the sky while griffon vultures soar effortlessly overhead. In the Tena Valley, we board a charming tourist train for a gentle 50-minute climb into the mountains to take in breathtaking lake views and crisp alpine air. Step back in time to the 1920s with a guided tour of the majestic Canfranc International Railway Station—known as the grand “Titanic of the Pyrenees”—and explore picturesque mountain villages featuring traditional slate roofs, heavy stone masonry, and iconic espantabrujas (witch-scaring chimney stones). From the dramatic hilltop medieval fortress of Aínsa, officially recognized as one of Spain’s Pueblos Más Bonitos, to the smallest village in Spain to boast its own cathedral, this tour delivers an unforgettable celebration of Pyrenean beauty.
