Join Jessica for another fun-filled Wine Tour delving into the unique wines produced by the high altitude vineyards of the Sierra de Nevada in the DO of Granada. As it is full board, your only extra expense will be for any bottles you choose to bring home! 

We enjoy a relaxing comfort break en route to our first bodega, where Isabel and her family welcome us to their artisan winery. Celebrated for crafting exceptional organic, vegan, natural wines in the high-altitude landscape near Guadix, they will host us for a tasting of five distinct wines, paired with a home-cooked Andalusian arroz for lunch. Afterward, we visit a local museum to discover the rich history and cave-dwelling traditions of this iconic troglodyte region while sampling three regional wines accompanied by local cheeses and cured meats.

On the second day we journey into the scenic Sierra de Darro. Here, we meet Emilio at his high-altitude organic vineyard for a tasting of four of his fine wines. With over 50 years of experience in the wine industry, Emilio has been cultivating and producing his own wines since 2000, working tirelessly as a family to craft exceptional quality—a dedication recognized by six Silver and one Gold Bacchus awards. We then head to the historic Cathedral city of Guadix for a delicious tapas lunch before climbing to nearly 1,200 meters to visit one of the highest vineyards in mainland Europe. Here, we taste three of their boutique wines while discovering how their meticulous organic viticulture, unique volcanic-clay soils, and high-altitude microclimate make every numbered bottle truly special.

We bid farewell and set off for our last day of delving into wine. We switch to a different DO—Almería—where we visit a renowned bodega. The winery is situated near dramatic coastal mountains, where unique mineral-rich soils and sea breezes shape its distinct wines. The bodega is dedicated to crafting red and white wines that reflect the character, history, and terroir of this region, where viticulture has flourished for 4,000 years. Here, we try four of their wines before continuing to Bolnuevo for a peek at the amazing sand sculptures and a final delicious meal

We stay on a half board basis at the gorgeous 4* Hotel Hospederia del Zenete which has a Google rating of 4.4 and a Booking.com rating of 8.6. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, all have hot air conditioning and a small number have walk in showers (please request at time of booking). Evening meal includes one glass of wine and water with one course and dessert to choose from the Menu del Noche. Breakfast is Spanish style. The hotel has its own bar and gardens.
