A truly wonderful day out featuring a perfectly paired blend of rich history, local culture, and fine regional wine.

Our journey begins in the historic city of Caravaca de la Cruz, proudly celebrated as one of only five official Catholic Holy Cities in the world. Our visit coincides with the vibrant monthly artisan market, where 20 talented local craftspeople will be displaying their exquisite handmade creations. You’ll have time to browse, savour a coffee, walk up to the breathtaking Sanctuary, where the sacred piece of the True Cross is reverently encased within the city’s iconic double-armed cross. We head to a beautiful nearby park to enjoy our delicious Bocadillo lunch, where we can dine in nature relaxing on the benches beside the soothing, crystal-clear waters of the river.

The afternoon unfolds at the magnificent, historic Bodega Carrascalejo, the grand country estate of the Marqués of Pidal. Here, we are treated to an exclusive peek inside the elegant family mansion, where the Marqués-in-waiting will captivate us  with remarkable tales of the noble family’s heritage, including a dramatic duel fought at dawn that won them their title, as well as the fascinating history of their very own family saint! We step down into the cool, atmospheric cellars where the ancient magic of winemaking takes place before tasting 4 of their wines.
