We are delighted to be returning for the second year to experience the splendor of the Basque Country with our Spain by Province Tour, led by Jessica and David. This expertly curated journey through the Basque Provinces offers a seamless blend of vibrant culture, rich history, and breathtaking landscapes, all tailored for a comfortable and enriching pace. Your adventure begins with a stress-free, 90-minute direct flight from Alicante to Bilbao, and throughout the tour, you will enjoy hand-picked accommodations ranging from the city-center convenience of Bilbao to a peaceful countryside retreat and the charming seaside ambiance of Zarautz.

We dedicate quality time to each of the three Basque capitals so you can truly immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. You will experience the weekend energy of Bilbao, explore the compact and historic streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz, and spend a full day admiring the coastal elegance and panoramic views of San Sebastián. We traverse spectacular natural parks and visit postcard-perfect fishing villages famous for their traditional open-air barbecues and vividly painted houses.

To help you truly connect with the region’s heritage, we have included several unique and immersive experiences. You will visit one of the world’s oldest active salt mines, watch medieval iron-smelting techniques in action, and meet an artisan shepherd to learn the secrets of local cheese production. The journey also includes a visit to a traditional cider farmhouse museum and a scenic shoreline cruise to see the famous island made world-renowned by Game of Thrones. Other highlights are a walk along the high platform of the world’s first transporter bridge for sweeping estuary views, a tour of an exclusive collection of 45 classic Rolls-Royce motorcars housed in a magnificent miniature castle and a step back in time experience to the mills that made the iconic Basque Berets. 

The tour concludes with a completely free day in the beautiful resort of Zarautz, allowing you to relax by the sea, enjoy a gentle coastal walk at your own pace or take the public transport to your favourite city of either Bilbao or San Sebastian.
