The Feria de Murcia takes place annually at the beginning of September in honour of the patron saint of the city of Murcia, the Virgen de la Fuensanta. During the fiesta her statue is carried down from its usual resting place in Sanctuario de la Fuensanta in the El Valle Regional Park to the Cathedral in the centre of the city.
The Feria has grown over the years and now includes the Huertos del Malecon which offer traditional food, the Gastrovin where wine can be tasted, the funfair at the La FICA and the Artesian Market along the Paseo del Malecon and the Food Trucks. The 2024 edition of the Feria de Murcia starts on Thursday the 5th September and continues with a great variety of events everyday until Tuesday 17th September.
