BUSOT MOORS & CHRISTIANS

The village of Busot, just inland from Alicante will be celebrating their Moors and Christians Fiesta from the 5th to the 8th April 2024 in honour of Sant Josep and Sant Vicent Ferrer. The programme for the Moors and Christians Fiesta is:

Friday 5th April
20:00 Procession from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with the Union Musical de Busot
23:30 Meeting of the ‘penas’ or groups of Moors and Christians in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
00:00 Entrance Parade from Calle San Jose to the Portal

Saturday 6th April
12:00 Entrance of the music bands starting from the Ermita de San Jose to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
18:30 Meeting of the Captains of each group of Moors and Christians
19:30 Entrance of the Moors and Christians with the music bands at the Ermita de San Jose.

Sunday 7th April
08:00 Diana, early morning parade through the streets of Busot

12:00 Enactment of the seizing of the embassy
12:30 Floral Offering to the Patron Saint San Jose
17:00 Enactment of War

18:00 Informal Parade through the streets
19:30 Moorish Embassy followed by a parade
00:00 Grand Retreta Parade

Monday 8th April
08:00 Diana, early morning parade through the streets of Busot

12:00 Enactment of the seizing of the embassy

19:30 Christian Embassy followed by a parade and then the Solemn Procession in honour of San Jose and San Vicente Ferrer
