The annual Moors and Christians Fiesta will take place in the town of Benissa from the 22nd June to the 1st July 2024. The fiesta honours San Pedro, Benissa’s Patron Saint and commemorates the period of Moorish occupation which this region of Spain experienced from the 7th to the 14th century. There will be the Grand Moors and Christians Parade, the attacking and conquering of the castle first by the Moors then by the Christians as well as several musical performances.
Saturday 22nd June

20:30 Opening Speeches followed by a firework display
Thursday 27th June
20:30 Music Concert by the Colla Xirimiters Pere Bigot and the Asociación Lírica y Musical de Benissa in the Plaza Jaume I.
Friday 28th June
22:30 Attack by the Moorish troops from the Plaza del Convento to the Plaza Jaume I followed by the Moorish Embassy and the conquest of the Castle.
Saturday 29th June
19:30 Children’s Parade.
21:30 Attack by the Christian troops from the Plaza del Convento to the Plaza Jaume I followed by the Christian Embassy and the conquest of the Castle.
Sunday 30th June
19:30 Parade of all the Music bands.
20:00 Grand Parade of the Moors and Christians from Calle València to the end of Calle Nou.
Monday 1st July
20:00 Humour Parade.
