Alicante Hogueras Fiesta 2024 EuroTourGuide Coach Tours

The official programme in English for this years Fogueres de Sant Joan or Hogueras de San Juan 2023 in Alicante starts on the 1st and finishes on the 29th June. There are twelve massive day time mascleta displays, five beautiful evenings of fireworks on the beach, an international folk parade, floral offerings and the main night of festivities, called the Crema, when the magnificent statues are burnt. The fiesta is of International Tourist Interest and well worth enjoying!

The main acts are:

Saturday 1st June

  • 18:00 Mascletas in the car park of the ADDA
  • 19:00 Opening Speeches at the entrance to the ADDA
  • 20:00 Opening Parade along Calle de San Vicente, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, Rafael Altamira finshing in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento for the Opening Speeches from the Balcony of the Ayuntamiento
  • 21:30 Official reception on the Balcony of the Town Hall

Saturday 15th June

  • 19:00 Parade of the Ninot. Route: Avenida de Alfonso X el Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez and Calle Rafael Altamira finishing in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Monday 17th June

  • 23:30 Arribada del Foc and light, sound and firework display in front of El Corte Ingles

Tuesday 18th June

  • 14:00 Masceltas n the Plaza Luceros
  • 18:30 Parade of the Music Bands and the Hogueras Commissioners. Route: Plaza de los Luceros, Avenida de Alfonso X el Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez and Calle Rafael Altamira finishing in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Wednesday 19th June

  • 00:05 Planta of the Children’s Hogueras (Ninots) in the streets.
  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.

Thursday 20th June

  • 00:05 Planta of the Adult’s Hogueras (Ninots) in the streets and the opening of the Barracas, party tents.
  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.

Friday 21st June

  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.
  • 18:30 1st session of the Flower Procession in honour of the Vigen del Remedio. Route: Alfonso el Sabio Avenue, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, San José, Plaza of Abad Penalva finishing at the Cathedral

Saturday 22nd June

  • 13:00 Parade of the Giants and Big Heads along Aktanira, Rambla and Alfonso el Sabio
  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.
  • 18:30 2nd session of the Flower Procession in honour of the Vigen del Remedio. Route: Alfonso el Sabio Avenue, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, San José, Plaza of Abad Penalva finishing at the Cathedral
  • 22:00 Partying in the barracas (areas in each neighbourhood beside their forgueres).

Sunday 23rd June

  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.
  • 19:00 Traditional Folk Dancing in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
  • 20:00 66th International Folk Parade. Route: Avenida de Alfonso el Sabio, Rambla de Méndez Núñez and Calle Rafael Altamira finishing in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
  • 22:30 Partying in the barracas (areas in each neighbourhood beside their forgueres).

Monday 24th June – night of the burning

  • 13:00 Parade of the Giants and Big Heads along Aktanira, Rambla and Alfonso el Sabio
  • 14:00 Masceltas in the Plaza de los Luceros.
  • 20:00 Official Hogueras Mass at the Concatedral de San Nicolás.
  • 00:00 Monumental Palmera firework from the Santa Barbara Castle on top of the Monte Benacantil, followed by the Cremá (burning) of the Fogueres.

Tueday 25th June – Saturday 29th June

  • 00:00 77th International Fireworks on the Beach Competition on Playa del Coco and Playa del Postiguet.
