It is not often that La Liga matches are postponed due to snow, but that is exactly what happened to Elche's Sunday fixture against Madrid based Getafe. It was played 24 hours later on Monday 11th, once the transport networks were restored.
Sunday's home match for Elche CF was postponed due to the extreme weather brought by Storm Filomena. The record breaking snowfall caused transport services to cease, resulting in Madrid based Getafe CF being unable to travel to the Martinez Valero.
