La Pedrera Reservoir

The La Pedrera Reservoir and the tiny village of Torremendo are part of Orihuela, whilst the small hamlet of Rebate belongs to San Miguel de la Salinas. The three places can easily be visited during a morning or afternoon scenic drive.

The man made reservoir, known as the Embalse de la Pedrera was finished in 1983 and supplies water for agricultural and municipal use. It is always a delight to drive around as it offers a constantly changing vista depending on the weather conditions, time of day and how full of water it is. Torremendo is a tiny village situated close to the shores of the Embalse de la Pedrera whilst the neighbouring hamlet of Rebate is even smaller. It has a chapel within the grounds of the Rebate restaurant.
