The EuroTourGuide Positive Place this week is the Palm Park on the southern side of Alicante city. The park is a wonderful place to visit and can easily be combined with spending time in the city or enjoying a coffee at the marina. The paths are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, there are children's play areas, a BMX track and picnic areas (toilets are closed at the moment due to covid).
The access is from the N332 and is hidden and quite tight, so check it out using the satellite view on the map before visiting. Parking is free, but limited so avoid potentially busy times. If you are coming out of the city heading south then the turning is on your right. If you are heading towards Alicante from the south, then you need to drive past the park and get into the left hand lane. The traffic lights are rapid, allowing only 3 or 4 cars to go before going red again. Once you have turned off the N332 then immediately take the road on your left, before the cycle route and pedestrian crossing. Once on this road continue until the diagonal parking spaces, as these are closer to the 2 park entrances. For the start of the parking road, click on the link or copy and paste the coordinates into google 38.324956, -0.511778 https://goo.gl/maps/BjkgwMmH8CdrPEp67
