Positive Places CLICK THE PHOTO for all the information and to watch the EuroTourGuide Video
The EuroTourGuide Positive Place this week is the Dam, Waterfall and Reservoir of Elche, known as the Pantano. Originally constructed in the 17th century, it was the first Arched Dam to have been built in Europe after the Romans. Watch the video to find out more about it's history and what to see when you visit.
There is free parking in the large dirt car park (Parkplatz Pantano de Elche), click on the link or copy and paste the coordinates into google. https://goo.gl/maps/aSyJuLUSqt2PhYRQ8 38.297759 -0.7171266. The last few hundred meters of the road is a dirt track, you will pass a small half circle pull in area on your left before arriving at the large car park.
To find the path to the dam, waterfall and reservoir, walk out of the car park where you drove in. Turn right and continue along the mud road way, past 3 lines of Eucalyptus trees. Follow the sign post for the Central Hidroelectrica and then the yellow and white paint marks which you will find on the rocks. It is about 1km and will take 20 minutes plus stops for photos and to enjoy the scenery!
Don't forget your camera to take your photo for the EuroTourGuide Facbook Page or Coach Tour Facebook Group.
