Elche CF Well Played

EuroTourGuide Coach Tours with Jessica & David Hayes Elche CF Match Report
For the first time in 18 months and since their promotion to La Liga, a EuroTourGuide Coach load of fans were able to travel to the Martinez Valero to support Elche CF.

Just over 10,000 fans saw their team put the breaks on Sevilla, denying the visitors 3 points for the first time this season. The first few minutes were nervous ones, with the Andalusians having several excellent chances. On the 11th minute Fidel managed to snatch the ball and with Sevilla being caught off guard and badly positioned, he passed inside to central Enzo Roco, resulting in Elche taking the lead. This sent Sevilla into free fall and Elche enjoyed a period of dominance that ended when Mojica made a great cross to Benedetto who headed it wide to miss a golden opportunity. This invigorated Lopetegui's men and on the 40th minute resulted in the equalizer being scored with a hammer of a header by En-Nesyri.

The second half continued with a similar intensity and a determination from both sides to gain the advantage. Sevilla attacked, making a triple substitution to the forward part of the field with 30 minutes to go. Elche defended, taking several causalities and using their substitutes to shore up gaps. A well and hard fought 1 point for the locals, and 2 points lost for their visitors in their quest for taking top position.

Following an international break, Elche will travel away to Getafe on Sunday 12th September for a 18:30 kick off. The following weekend they will take on Valencia based Levante at home, giving you the opportunity to join the EuroTourGuide Coach Tour for 11€ to the Martinez Valero.
