The Vega Baja town of Almoradi is best known for producing hand made furniture, growing artichokes and its weekly street market. The central square is well worth a visit, with the beautifully manicured trees and the majestic church. Located around the square are the town hall, the informative tourist office and the old casino. The Teatro Cortes and the much newer Auditorium Municipal both offer cultural entertainment and all visitors can pay to use the open air municipal swimming pool during the summer.
Almoradi hosts a very popular street market every Saturday morning attracting 30,000 people. The market is always accompanied by other events, such as concerts, shows, commercial fairs, exhibitions and guided tours. This initiative, called the Mercado Animado, has resulted in Almoradi's market receiving Provincial Tourist Interest status. The stall holders set up in the streets that surround the central town square.
