This weekend it is International Museum Day on the 18th May. The biggest and best programme will be in the city of Cartagena, where all of the museums are free to visit all evening and there is street entertainment. There are also celebrations in honour of San Isidro, the Patron Saint of countryside workers, as well as a great selection of other events.

The 6th edition of the Coastal Tapas Route continues in Torre de la Horadada where there are 22 establishments offering a tapa and drink for 3€, and on Saturday it is the Tardeo Party in Algorfa. The nocturnal Romeria in honour of San Pascual takes place in Monforte Del Cid on Thursday, and there will be a Free Guided Nocturnal Walking Route in Almoradi on Saturday. The Moors and Christians Fiesta begins in Petrer where the Christians will be Parading on Saturday morning and the Moors on Sunday evening. There will be several events to honour San Isidro; in Bigastro there will be a Romeria on Saturday, in Rojales there will be a party in the Recorral Park all weekend, and in Castalla the 27th San Isidro Fair will take place. The 10th FormenJazz Festival can be enjoyed in Formentera del Segura, and 300 Antique and Classic Cars will be on show all weekend at the IFA near Alicante airport.

The Turron Tapas Route continues in Jijona with 10 local establishments offering a Turron based Tapas and Drink for 2,50€, and in Villajoyosa the 15th Vi Wine Fair can be enjoyed on Friday evening. There are free Guided Walks in Altea on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and in Calpe there is a Discount Shopping Fair from Thursday to Sunday.
The 11th edition of the Night of the Museums will take place in Cartagena, where not only will the city Museums be open and free to visit until 2am, but there is also a large programme of Street Entertainment. San Isidro will be honoured at the 6th Trilla Fiesta in Roldan all weekend, and also in Yecla where there will be a Carnival Parade on Saturday. The Three Cultures Festival continues in Murcia with free Concerts, Dance or Theatrical performances, and the Mucho Mas Mayo Festival continues in Cartagena which showcases International Culture, Art, Music and Dance.
