Benidorm Moors & Christians Fiesta

The Moors and Christians will be parading through the streets of Benidorm from the 4th to the 7th October 2018. The fiesta in honour of San Jamie Apostel takes place at the same time every year. The programme, in English below, includes a number of spectacular parades, mock battles and a flower offering.
 
Wednesday 3rd October
23.00 Entrance Parade of the Moors and Christian legions along Calle Paseo Colon, Paseo de la Carretera, Martínez Alejos, Gambo ending in the Plaza de la Hispanidad opposite the castle.
 
Thursday 4th October
22:00 Invasion of the Moors on Playa Levante, near Calle Valencia, where the Moors re-enact the invasion and taking of the town from the Christians.

Friday 5th October
10.30 Diana, early morning parade with the music bands and the Moors and Christians, along Paseo Colon, Paseo de la Carretera, Martinez Alejos, Gambo finishing in the Plaza de la Hispanidad opposite the Castle.
19:00 Battle & Christian Embassy, the Christians will ask the Moors to leave the Castle, they will refuse, so war will break out which the Christians will win.
 
Saturday 6th October
10:30 Diana, early morning parade with the music bands and the Moors and Christians, from Plaza Neptuno, along Av. Almendros, Paseo Colon, Paseo de la Carretera, Martinez Alejos, Gambo finishing in the Plaza de la Hispanidad opposite the Castle.
20:00 Spectacular Moors and Christians Parade through the streets of the town along Tomas Ortuno, Venus, Ruzafa, Martínez Alejos, Gambo, Plaza Hispanidad ending on Avenida Bilbao.
 
Sunday 7th October
12:00 Parliament at the castle.
12:30 Flower Offering Parade to San Jaime Apostol from Plaza Hispanidad along Gambo, Martínez Alejos, Alameda, Mayor.
20:00 Festival Carnival Parade including the Fiesta Queens and the Moors and Christians Legions with sweets, streamers and gifts being thrown from the floats into the crowd. Itinerary: Calle Tomas Ortuño, Venus, Ruzafa, Martínez Alejos, Gambo finishing in Plaza Hispanidad, in front of the Castle.
