Benidorm Fiesta Vigen del Carmen
Benidorm, like many other coastal towns throughout Spain will be honouring the Virgen del Carmen with several days of celebrations from the 12th to the 16th July 2018. Carmen is the patron saint of fishermen and the celebrations usually involve her statue being carried from the church to the marina for a short maritime voyage. This fiesta is one of the oldest and most popular in Benidorm.
Thursday 12th July

12:00 Giant Paella on Calle Jose Such Ortega
20:00 Gathering on Paseo de Colón for a small procession to the Plaza de la Senoria for the traditional Flower Offering
21:00 Party on Paseo Colon, near the sundial
Sunday 15th July
19:00 Gathering on Paseo de Colón for a small procession to the Iglesia to collect the statue of the Virgen del Carmen.
20:00 Maritime Procession when the statue of the Virgen del Carmen is parade on a boat, once she is disembarked the traditional hymn will be sung in the Parque de Elche.
Monday 16th July
19:15 Gathering on Paseo de Colón for a small procession to the Iglesia
22:00 Firework Display in the Plaza del Castillo
