After two comfortable rest stops, we arrive in the peaceful village of Riofrío, known since the 16th century for its clear waters and fishing tradition. In 1964, it became home to Spain’s first trout and sturgeon farm—now famous for its high-quality caviar. We’ll take a gentle 4km walk (about one hour) along the river, followed by a traditional Menú del Día lunch (included) at a local restaurant. The highlight of the day is a guided visit to the Osbourne Fish Farm to learn about sustainable sturgeon farming, ending with a taste of premium caviar. Later, we continue to our comfortable hotel in Loja, where you can enjoy some free time before a buffet dinner with wine and water included.
After a buffet breakfast, we enjoy a scenic 90-minute drive to the stunning Caminito del Rey. Our small group (maximum 36) meets a dedicated guide and is equipped with safety gear and earpieces before beginning a leisurely three-hour walk through dramatic gorges and cliffs, with fascinating stories about the site’s history and engineering. Afterwards, we head to a nearby village for a well-deserved Menú del Día (included), returning to the hotel by around 5:00 PM. The rest of the day is yours to relax, explore Loja, or enjoy the optional hotel spa, before another buffet dinner with wine and water included.
After a relaxed breakfast, we check out and head to El Torcal Natural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its striking limestone formations. Accompanied by a local guide, we enjoy the 4.5km Ammonites Route—an easy three-hour circular walk where we’ll spot ancient fossils and take in spectacular mountain scenery. We stop for a relaxing Menú del Día lunch (included) before continuing our journey home, with a comfort break along the way. We aim to arrive back locally around 19:30.
