Christmas with the Hayes – the Vigo edition!
This Christmas, we head north to Vigo, home to Spain’s most dazzling festive lights! We’ll travel in comfort on a high-speed train, covering 925km in just five hours, arriving refreshed and ready for a magical holiday in Galicia.
Our adventure takes us to A Coruña, a city rich in maritime history, where glass-fronted galleries overlook the port, Picasso once lived, and the legendary Torre de Hércules—the world’s oldest working lighthouse—stands tall. We take in the Holy City of Santiago de Compostela, one of Christianity’s greatest pilgrimage sites. Wander the UNESCO-listed old quarter, visit the vibrant food market, and marvel at the breath taking cathedral. We also cross into Portugal to discover Braga, home to the country’s oldest cathedral and the magnificent Bom Jesus do Monte, where a stunning Baroque stairway leads to spectacular views. Of course, the heart of this trip is Vigo, where our hotel sits beside the marina, just 250 meters from the old town. With streets illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights, the city transforms into a winter wonderland full of festive cheer.
Galicia’s charming villages are not forgotten! On Christmas Eve, we’ll cruise the Arousa Estuary, learning about its famous oyster, mussel, and scallop farming—topped off with a tasting! Boxing Day brings a visit to one of Europe’s most stunning historical gardens, home to 6,000 flourishing camellias and their own cultivated camellia tea. And for a special Christmas Day treat, we take in breath taking views over the Río Miño to Portugal, visit ancient Celtic ruins, and explore a traditional fishing village, recognized as a European Destination of Excellence.
The hotel enjoys a prime location opposite Vigo’s marina, offering easy access to the city’s waterfront charm. Its spacious rooms feature classic décor and include baths with overhead showers, with the option to upgrade to a sea-view room for a more scenic stay. We enjoy hot buffet breakfasts and buffet dinners with wine and water each day, except Christmas Day, when we indulge in a grand Spanish-style midday gala meal. While the hotel does not have its own bar, a variety of lively bars can be found in the surrounding streets, and the pedestrian area of Vigo is just a 250-meter uphill walk away.

- Stage payment on the 1st July of 500€ per person
- Final payment on the 1st October of 350€ per person in a shared room and 660€ in a single room plus sea view supplement of 60€

Luggage: Each person can take up to 3 pieces of luggage. The largest item must not measure more than 85cm high, 55cm wide, 35cm depth. Additionally, the total sum of all your bags’ dimensions (height + width + depth of each) must not exceed 290cm or a total weight of 25kg.
Luggage with Motorized Scooter or Wheelchair: Each person can take up to 2 pieces which measure 290cm in total and weigh less than 25kg plus the foldable scooter/chair which must not measure more than 140cm high, 70cm wide and 130cm deep
