Following the success of last year’s lavender tours, we’ve uncovered a truly spectacular floral paradise for you with some 1,000 hectares of breath taking fields bursting with a sea of vibrant purple – a truly sensory delight.
Departing at 06:30, we’ll enjoy a smooth journey with two comfort stops. Around midday, we arrive in Alcalá de Henares, birthplace of Cervantes, where history comes to life through literary sculptures, Spain’s longest portico, and one of Europe’s oldest universities. Enjoy time to explore and have lunch at a local restaurant. From there, we head into the countryside to our charming rural hotel, complete with an outdoor pool—perfect for unwinding after a warm July day. Relax on the terrace or take a refreshing dip before we gather for a delicious menú del noche with wine and water.
After a leisurely Spanish breakfast, we journey into the heart of lavender country, where Brihuega’s fields burst into a breath taking sea of purple. Here, we’ll visit a local distillery to learn how delicate essential oils are extracted. Brihuega is full of hidden treasures, including its remarkable Miniature Museum (included). You’ll have time to explore at your own pace, browse charming lavender-themed boutiques, and enjoy lunch at a local café or restaurant. In the afternoon, we follow scenic country roads past more stunning lavender fields before returning to our peaceful hotel. Unwind with a swim or relax before another delicious home-cooked dinner with wine.
After a relaxed Spanish breakfast, we set off to explore a nearby town, starting with a guided visit to the stunning Ducal Palace, famed for its intricate wooden ceilings and tile work. Once home to the Príncipes de Éboli, it offers a glimpse into the aristocratic buildings of the past. There’s time to wander the charming streets, soak up the local atmosphere, and enjoy a morning coffee before we head to a traditional restaurant for a delicious menú del día. After a leisurely lunch, we begin our journey home, making a comfort stop along the way and arriving back locally around 19:00.
